Real Life 101 - Chapter 1

Always have enough money in your account to cover the automatic withdrawls.

The boy called and left me a voice mail message yesterday. He is overdrawn and wants to borrow money. 4 days. It only took 4 days. I'm still debating the issue in my head. I will make a decision when I find out how much and when he has the nerve to call and talk to me in person.

  • No, no, no, no.

Wear red and channel Nancy Reagan. JUST SAY NO.

Internet world, help me out on this one: Child may be your offspring, and well-protected for 18 years fruit of your loins. But in the past months, the relationship between you has been one of constant disrespect on his part and constant assertions that you know nothing and he knows everything. So do you bail him out?

The Bis-Man job fair starts today and goes through Sunday.

  • I knew there would be a JUST SAY NO comment. And I was pretty sure it would be from you.

If it isn't a huge dollar amount, it may be worth it to see if it is paid back. If it isn't paid back, then he won't ever need to ask again.

Still, can't help but thinking that he whole reason for the overdraft was that he needed to buy weed.

Which brings up my next thought. For most service jobs that require no education and pay a decent amount of money, you more than likely will have to pass a drug test. Gas stations and restaurants do not require this. Nor do they pay much.

  • It won't be paid back. If you do give him the money, know that it won't be paid back. Ever.

Remember: He promised to pay rent. He promised to pay the cell phone bill. He didn't and doesn't regularly. He already, technically, owes you money.

He could quit smoking. That'd save money.

Sorry. I have no sympathy for his situation. He should make enough to cover the basics. And anyone who smokes (weed or tobacco) can't ever complain to me about being broke. What a freaking waste of money!

  • i second the just say no. youll never get the money back and youre just encouraging him to fall back on you. youve pushed the birdie out of the nest now hes gotta fly or plonk.

    dont be an enabler!!!
